Josh, here's a great Scientific American article for anybody who thinks the site you posted might have been too biased/whatever. the point is that the technology is real, and the possibilities are freaky.
I think that the ides behind these chips is great, but the possibility of what we could do with the technology is scary. I don't think that it is a good thing to have all of this power because as humans we don't always make the right choices with how to use it which in the end can hurt us pretty badly.
This is kind of creepy, especially since they're so tiny you would never know they're there. I thought it was funny the way they present them as glittering like stardust, like they're trying to sell us on the idea. They could be useful, but we would never know the extent they were being used for.
It reminds me of this Eagle Eye interview they showed. The CIA had a meeting with Shia LaBeouf to show him his "record" to get him in character. They even had recorded phone calls of his which they played back.. Apparently they listen into a lot of actors (lot of good that does). Shia said it was the creepiest thing he had ever been through.
